Pools Bid for McDonald - Ipswich Town News

Town have turned down a bid of £75,000 from Hartlepool for Dean McDonald. Meanwhile, Aidan Collins has joined Wycombe on a month's loan.

McDonald enjoyed a successful loan spell with Pools, where Gerard Nash is currently spending a month, late last year and boss Joe Royle says a permanent move could yet go through: "Hartlepool have made a bid for Dean but it's not quite matched our valuation.

"We have made Dean aware of the situation and there are other bits and pieces to the deal tied in, so we will see what develops."

Royle says that McDonald and Dean Bowditch have been cut from Saturday's squad: "We have trimmed the squad to 16 for Saturday's game against Sheffield United and Dean and Dean Bowditch have dropped out of the 18 originally named."

Collins, who was told last week that he will not be kept on at the end of the season, has signed for a month at Wycombe after joining on trial a few days ago. Former Blue Matt Bloomfield is a regular in the Chairboys midfield.
