Bowditch Set for Wycombe - Ipswich Town News

Striker Dean Bowditch is set to join Wycombe Wanderers on loan. The Blues are keen for the 19-year-old to spend some time with a lower league club and gete some goals under his belt.

Boss Joe Royle said: "The move is almost certainly on but we are still tying up a few loose ends regarding how long Dean will be with Wycombe.

"They would like him for longer than a month and the only way I will agree to that is if there is an agreement that we can recall him if required. I have left it to the two clubs' secretaries to sort that out."

Town's striker injury crisis is starting to ease with Nicky Forster and Sam Parkin on the mend and Adam Proudlock ready for reserves action.

Bowditch will meet up with several familiar faces at the Causeway Stadium. Manager John Gorman is a former Town coach, while midfielder Matt Bloomfield left Portman Road to join the Chairboys in 2003 and central defender Aidan Collins is also on loan with the League Two leaders.

The England U19 international, who was also interesting Blackpool and Gillingham, is contracted until 2008 and the Blues continue to have big hopes for his future.
