Pierpoint for Town - Ipswich Town News

On a day when news seems to be breaking about our ears TWTD has also heard a whisper that Town may soon be appointing a new Chief Executive. The man we are told is in line to succeed Howard Wells is former Leicester and Portsmouth big-wig Barrie Pierpoint.

Pierpoint left Pompey recently and is reported to be considering "one or two" offers with the role at Town strongly tipped by football business experts to be one of them.

Howard Wells left Town at the end of last season to concentrate on personal interests. Since then David Sheepshanks has taken over this role in conjunction with his position as chairman. He said not so long ago that he would continue as Chief Executive for the rest of the season, however, if the right man came along who is to say that he might not stand aside.

More if and when we discover it.
