Reserves Thrashed - Ipswich Town News
Goals from Andy Whing, Kevin Thornton, Luke Webb and former Town academy striker Craig Reid gave Coventry's reserves a 4-0 victory over the Town second string at Rugby Town's Butlin Road ground on Wednesday evening.
The Blues were second best throughout and the Sky Blues could have scored even more goals against a lacklustre Town side.
Frontman Reid moved to Portman Road after leaving Coventry in 2002 but returned to his hometown club after being released by the Blues in 2004. Last February Reid, yet to make a first team appearance, scored the winner as Coventry's reserves defeated the Blues 1-0.
Boss Joe Royle and former Town striker James Scowcroft were amongst those watching the game.
Reserves: Price, Moore, Sito, Skard (Trotter 53), Casement, Mitchell, Peters, Horlock, McDonald, Proudlock (Clarke 53), Knights. Unused: Pétursson, Short, Lordan. Att: 150.
