Fans Facing Train Delays - Ipswich Town News

Fans making the trip to Norwich for Sunday's East Anglian derby at Carrow Road by rail are likely to face delays. Buses replace trains on a number of routes into Norfolk ahead of the live Sky game which kicks off at 11.15am.

London-based supporters should note that engineering work means that a bus service will be in operation between Shenfield and Witham, extending their journey time by half an hour. Lowestoft Blues face similar engineering problems and bus journeys into Norwich.

Fans travelling from pretty much anywhere are advised to check with One Railways for delays on their route.

One have added an extra service from Ipswich to Norwich with trains leaving at 9.35am and 9.44am.

Those driving to the match are likely to face the usual congestion around Norwich, while the park-and-ride service into Norwich from Postwick is closed.

There is also concern amongst some Town supporters that Norfolk police plan to use the same procedures they used at the Carrow Road derby two years ago. Then Town fans with cars parked in Norwich and supporters wanting to travel home to Lowestoft were herded onto trains going to Ipswich after the match.
