Mitchell Freed - Ipswich Town News
Full-back Scott Mitchell has been told he will not be offered a new contract when his current deal expires in June. The 20-year-old is free to find a new club between now and the end of the season.
Boss Joe Royle told the club site: "I've had a word with Scott and told him we will be letting him go.
"He has not made as much progress as we would have hoped, although he has also been unlucky with injuries.
"We have seen other young players like Scott Barron come through and Chris Casement is also forging his way ahead, so there have been limited opportunities for Scott to become involved with the first team.
"He will be free to leave in the summer, but making him available now will hopefully help him get fixed up before then. We will do what we can to help him get his career going elsewhere."
