Reports in Birmingham suggest that the Worthington Cup semi-final second leg may still have to move. Police are unhappy that Birmingham and Villa both have games on the same night with fears of hooliganism to the fore.
Birmingham had dug their heels in after police tried to get them to move, however, they have now admitted that the match is not guaranteed to go ahead on the 24th January as currently stated.
Apparently Premier League, Football League and police are talking about the issue and the game could move to either the Tuesday or Thursday. Birmingham play Blackburn in a Sky game on the preceding Sunday and both sides play on the subsequent Saturday, so if there is a move at least one side will be forced to play twice in two days.
