Southend Trial for Lordan - Ipswich Town News
Academy midfielder Cathal Lordan will join Southend on a week's trial. Lordan, the scorer of both goals in the 2-2 draw at Southampton in the first leg of last season's FA Youth Cup final, has been told he will not be offered a professional deal with Town and is free to leave the club.
Lordan will join up with the Essex side on Monday and will play in a reserve game with Northampton on Tuesday afternoon.
The 18-year-old Irishman has already spent a week on trial with Gillingham but the Kent side decided against offering him a contract.
