Williams Out for Season - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Gavin Williams has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing an exploratory operation yesterday. The surgeon decided that he former Yeovil and West Ham man required a repair to his knee.
Boss Joe Royle said: "It is really bad news for us and Gavin. He had an exploratory operation on Wednesday and the surgeon has decided it is best to do a repair.
"There is bone bruising and cartilage damage, and at this stage of the season we are not going to take any risks.
"It rules him out for the rest of the season, which wasn't what we wanted to hear, but at least Danny Haynes and Scott Barron have trained and should be OK for the weekend."
