Robson Impressed With Duo - Ipswich Town News
Former Town manager Sir Bobby Robson was impressed with Irish duo Owen Garvan and Shane Supple during Saturday's 2-0 victory over Leicester City. Robson watched the game in his capacity as a consultant to new Republic of Ireland manager Steve Staunton.
Robson thought 18-year-old Garvan took his goal well: "I was very impressed with him. He put the ball away brilliantly for his goal and worked his socks off all afternoon."
The ex-England manager felt Supple had a solid game: "The young lad did all that was required of him. I was very impressed with him as well."
Both players have been withdrawn from the Irish U19 squad playing in a tournament in La Manga this week because of domestic commitments but U21 or even senior calls are likely to come soon.
