Is Kachloul the Man - Ipswich Town News

Speculation on the south coast suggests long-time Town target Hassan Kachloul is likely to be the Premiership player targeted by George Burley. Town had a £2 million offer for the Moroccan accepted in the summer, but the player turned down a move to Town saying he wanted to stay with Glenn Hoddle's club.

However, Town now look a decent prospect for European football next season and Kachloul has failed to sign a new contract at the Dell. With him available on a free at the end fo the season Southampton may want to cash in for the player now and receive about a £1 million for him. In addition they may need the cash after purchasing Dan Petrescu from Bradford.

Meanwhile it seems Town have an offer in for another player. It seems likely that this player may be a young attacker as cover for Marcus Stewart. Names in the frame may include ex-town trainee Tommy Miller and Cardiff's Robert Earnshaw who was linked with Town earlier this season. Town could also look abroad for a non-cuptied player as back-up for the Worthington Cup. However, we have only speculation as to his identity at the moment.
