Naylor Appeal Launched - Ipswich Town News

The FA have confirmed that the Blues have appealed against Richard Naylor's red card for "denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity" in last night's 3-1 defeat to Preston North End. Naylor was sent off in the 10th minute after a 'clash' with Lilywhites striker Brett Ormerod.

The long-serving central defender's red card was Town's fifth of the season, a club record. The previous highest of four was reached in the 1995/96 and the 2002/03 seasons.

Naylor and Sito have received two red cards each, while Fabian Wilnis was shown the other. The Blues successfully appealed against Sito's sending off in the home derby with Norwich City.

All three are amongst the 11 players who have been sent off twice for the club. As yet no one has been red-carded three times while playing for the Blues.

Two Red Card XI: Sito, Richard Naylor, John Wark, Paul Mariner, Russell Osman, Tony Vaughan, James Scowcroft, Manu Thetis, John McGreal, Pablo Couñago and Fabian Wilnis.
