Fuller Hope - Ipswich Town News
Ricardo Fuller says he is hopeful referee Kevin Friend will overturn the red card he showed the Jamaican in the second half of Saturday's game at Crystal Palace. Fuller made a V-sign to the crowd which a linesman intepreted as being aimed at him.
The one-time Palace player hopes he might escape without a ban after a post-match chat with Friend: "I spoke to the referee after the game and explained the gesture was not for the linesman. The referee seems a good man and listened to me, so we will see.
"I am determined that I will not be suspended and that this will not be my last game for Ipswich."
A suspension would mean Fuller misses the home game with Hull City next week and, while Joe Royle is keen to keep the Southampton striker permanently, the club board may not be willing to spend more money on a loan player with the season effectively over.
