Rossi Linked to Town - Ipswich Town News

Town are reported to be one of two Championship clubs to have made a failed loan bid for Manchester United youngster Giuseppe Rossi as Thursday's transfer deadline approaches. It seems unlikely that the Blues would be targeting the American with the season all but over and Ricardo Fuller already on loan at Portman Road.

Preston are claimed to be the other interested party but Manchester United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz says Rossi is going nowhere: "Giuseppe will not go out on loan this season.

"He is still working under the programme we set him at the beginning of the season and it will end as planned at the end of the season.

"We have nothing in our minds about letting him go out on loan before then, although next season is another story and maybe then we can open up that possibility."

Town made an enquiry regarding Rossi's availability before Christmas which may be the source of the latest story.
