Mahon Joins Burnley - Ipswich Town News
Former Town loanee Alan Mahon joining Burnley from Wigan was one of very few moves on a quiet transfer deadline day.
The Irishman, who made 12 appearances in a hugely popular loan spell at Portman Road in 2003, will be on loan with the Clarets until the end of the season when he will join them permanently for £200,000.
Earlier in the week, ex-Town striker Marcus Stewart left Bristol City for a five-week loan spell at Preston North End.
Further afield, former academy midfielder Liam Manning, who was released by Town last summer, has joined UMF Selfoss, a second division side in Iceland.
Back in Suffolk, two Australian 16-year-olds, Joel Chianese and Steve Tibbetts, are spending a month training with the academy.
