Sheepy Cross With Fixture List - Ipswich Town News

Town chairman has spokne out about the stop-start nature of Town's season from now on. The Blues have had a very busy November, December and January, but face a February with just three Premiership games, a March with only two and a gap of two weeks between the second last game of the season and the last so the FA Cup Final can be accommodated in between.

The Town chairman said: "Having been much involved with the Football League in years gone by, I know how difficult the question of fixture planning is becoming, exacerbated by the number of Champions' League ties and internationals. Nevertheless I have to say there must be a better way of doing it than this year."

The Town chairman added that he thought there should be a two-game bank holiday in both August and May to mark the beginning and the end of the season. He thinks the season starts and ends too early and that these weekends are an ideal beginning and end for the domestic programme.

The Town main-man also suggested that the Champions' League should look at reducing its fixtures while advocating a break in the season somewhere during February and March for all clubs not involved in the major European competition.
