Currie Watford Link - Ipswich Town News
A Sunday tabloid is linking midfielder Darren Currie with a £400,000 move to Watford in the summer. The Blues have been linked with Coventry City midfield player Stephen Hughes.
It would be a surprise if anyone paid a fee approaching anything like £400,000 for Currie, now 31 and with only a year remaining on his Town contract.
The Blues and Southampton are both reported to be interested in former Arsenal, Everton and Watford man Hughes. The 29-year-old has two years remaining on his current Coventry contract and is likely to command a fee. That and Joe Royle's greater interest in a centre forward and a central defender over the summer, suggests the midfielder is an unlikely target.
Elsewhere, Town's FA Youth Cup-winning captain Liam Craig will sign a new one-year contract with Falkirk if they confirm their SPL place for next season. Craig joined the Bairns after being released by the Blues in January.
