No Juan at Plymouth - Ipswich Town News

Boss Joe Royle has confirmed that departing loanee Jimmy Juan will play no role at Plymouth on Sunday, as reported by TWTD yesterday. The Town manager has also admitted that finance played some role in the decision not to keep the Monaco player at Portman Road.

Royle said: "Jimmy will not feature on Sunday - I want to look at players with next season in mind."

Juan has another year left on his contract at Monaco with the French league club understood to want a big fee for his services. The Town boss says that Town are not in a position to spend money on a player he sees primarily as one for the future: "Jimmy did well when he came into the side and up until the time he was injured.

"But he did not kick-on in the latter part of the season. He has potential, and with a better financial situation at the club we could have given him another year to see how his potential unfolded."

Juan made 37 appearances for Town, scoring five goals including the first in the 2-1 derby win at Carrow Road.
