Debut Goal for Viktor - Ipswich Town News
New academy recruit Viktor Unnar Illugason scored on his Icelandic Premier League debut on Saturday as his Breidablik side beat IBV Vestmannaeyjar 4-1. Illugason, 16, will join the Blues at the end of the season in Iceland.
The striker came on as a 90th minute substitute and netted an audacious goal four minutes into injury time which can be viewed here (first match shown, second goal, number nine in a green shirt).
Already, the Icelandic media are making comparisons with Eidur Gudjohnsen, while some fans have taken to calling him ‘Ãslenski Rooney'.
Illugason, an Icelandic U17 international, agreed to join the Blues having spent a number of trial spells at Playford Road over the last couple of years, turning down the chance to join Reading.
