Earnshaw and Hopkin Linked - Ipswich Town News
The weekend papers have been doing that linking Town to players thing once more. Again linked is Cardiff striker Robert Earnshaw while Bradford's David Hopkin is a new name mentioned in connection with Town.
The Hopkin link comes from George Burley's presence at the Bradford-Manchester United reserve game last Tuesday. Whereas local sources suggested that Town were looking at a couple of Manchester United youngsters, national papers are claiming it is David Hopkin we are after. We're not entirely convinced.
Robert Earnshaw has long been a rumoured Town target and George Burley made the short trip to Southend last Saturday to watch the Welsh striker. However, Earnshaw was on the bench that day and the Town manager left at half-time. Welsh sources are suggesting a transfer may be imminent, but there seems to be little on the subject from Town.
