Lee Not Hamstrung - Ipswich Town News
Physio Dave Williams has refuted reports in Ireland claiming Alan Lee is missing the Republic's friendly against Chile in Dublin tonight due to a hamstring problem. Williams says the Town frontman has a long-standing groin problem and wasn't expected to play in this evening's match.
Williams told the club site: "Alan was never going to play anyway but it's got nothing to do with his hamstring.
"He's had a groin problem that has troubled him on and off since he joined us and it's something that we have been monitoring.
"I have been talking to the Irish physio staff and Alan will have an injection which will hopefully settle it down and then he will have two weeks' complete rest.
"After that, we may take him to see a specialist to see if there is an underlying problem, but at this stage it's a case of seeing if the injection does the trick."
