Reserve League Reshuffle - Ipswich Town News
Football Combination clubs are meeting today to discuss a reshuffle which could see the sides exiting the FA Premier Reserve League competing alongside them next season.
The reorganisation is expected to be amongst the issues discussed at the Football Combination's AGM in London.
Town are one of a number of Football League sides whose second strings have been excluded from the FA Premier Reserve League from next season. There had been plans to form a new East Anglian league but instead the likes of Town, Norwich and Coventry could be invited to take part in a revamped Football Combination.
The Blues have played in the FA Premier Reserve League (South) since their promotion in 2000, winning the title a year later, having previously been members of the Football Combination.
Town would probably be invited to join the East Division of the competition, sponsored last season by Pontin's Holidays. The clubs competing in the East League in 2005/06 were Barnet, Colchester United, Leyton Orient, Luton Town, MK Dons, Northampton Town, Oxford United, Southend United and Stevenage Borough.
