International Bright Young Things - Ipswich Town News

It's jet-setting time for some of the younger Town players this week with several of them off with international squads. David Johnson has gone to the US with the Jamaican national squad for a friendly, whilst Sean Friars plays for the Northern Ireland U21s against Germany. Richard Wright joins up with former Town player and man of the moment Kieron Dyer in the England squad visiting Poland.

Town will be without Manu Thetis on Saturday as he serves his one match suspension for his sending off against Bolton. Wayne Brown may come in for his third Town start or Tony Mowbray might make his first start of the season.

Town's only injury worries at the moment are Jamie Clapham (thigh) and Mark Venus (calf). Both are virtually certain to be fit for the weekend's trip to Portsmouth.

George Burley was apparently watching Luton last weekend. No specific player has been mentioned as interesting the Tiwn manager, although if Town were looking to purchase a player from the Kenilworth Road club he may come at a knockdown fee due to the Hatters' financial difficulties.
