Summer Bid for Kachloul - Ipswich Town News

Hassan Kachloul has said he would consider moving to Town in the summer if another offer was there. The Southampton player turned down both a new contract from the Saints and a move to Town yesterday, preferring to leave his options open 'til the end of the season.

The Moroccan, reportedly after £25,000 a week, will be available on a Bosman then and may profit from a greater signing on fee. Town's latest offer, the second after a summer deal for £1.8 million fell through, was rumoured in Southampton yesterday be £1.5 million.

Kachloul said of a possible Town move in the summer: "I would consider Ipswich at the end of the season, but they want a player now. I know other clubs are interested and if the right offer landed on the table, then I could leave before then. I will definitely stay in England."

It is unlikely that Town would make a move for the player if he continues to demand £25,000 a week. We would also imagine that George Burley and David Sheepshanks would be reluctant to bring in a player who has twice turned us down and has caused a bit of upset in the Southampton camp at a crucial stage of the season. Any move would also be unpopular with Town fans who see Kachloul as being very greedy.

Other clubs linked are Spurs and Coventry.
