Jim Names First Squad - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Jim Magilton has named all three trialists in his first ever squad ahead of Saturday's friendly at Boston United (KO 3pm). Frenchman Alexis Bertin joins German Eugen Bopp and Irishman Colin Healy in the party travelling to York Street.
Magilton plans to field a different 11 in each half of the game. Youngsters Sammy Moore, Billy Clarke, Chris Casement and James Krause are all included in the 22-man squad.
The Blues faced the Pilgrims in a friendly last season, Magilton scoring the final goal in a 5-2 victory. Boston boss Steve Evans says the new Town manager is looking for even more goals this time around: "We've had some banter on the phone this week. Jim reckons they're looking to score more than last year and I told him I'll make sure he loses his first match as a manager.
"It may be a pre-season [match] but, of course, we want to win every game."
Squad: Bertin, Barron, Bopp, Bowditch, Casement, Clarke, Currie, De Vos, Forster, Healy, Krause, Moore, Naylor, Parkin, Peters, Price, Sito, Supple, Skard, Westlake, Williams, Wilnis.
