Jim's Challenge to Kids - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton has challenged Town's young players to show him that they are worth a place in the first team during the pre-season tour of Holland and Belgium. The Blues face Willem II on Monday, Zulte-Waregem on Wednesday and FC Brussels on Friday.
The Willem II and FC Brussels games kick-off at 7.30pm local time, while Zulte-Waregem's official site lists their match as a 7pm start.
Magilton told the club site that he is looking for the younger members of the squad to make their mark over the three games: "All credit to Boston and Galway, their players gave us a decent game and it was a good exercise for us in both matches.
"The tour will be a new challenge for the younger players; being away for a week and the intensity of training and playing three games in that time.
"I'm looking for a response from them as well. I want them to step up a notch, to raise their level and show me they are worth a place in the side."
