Reserves Take on Fram - Ipswich Town News

Town will field a young side in a pre-season friendly at Framlingham Town this evening (KO 7.30pm). The match is a testimonial for long-serving Framlingham player Neil Whatling.

Billy Clarke, Vemund Brekke Skard, Darryl Knights and Gerard Nash are the only players with first team experience, with the game providing a first opportunity for most to take a look at this season's new intake of academy scholars.

Striker Jordan Rhodes is included along with midfielders Curtley Williams and Jai Reason, as is New Zealander Tommy Smith, a centre-half, and goalkeeper Andrew Plummer. Also in the squad is Ryan Watts, a midfielder from Brentford who was on trial towards the end of last season.

The Blues last played a game at Framlingham ahead of the 2003/04 season when Clarke, Synnott and Knights were in the side along with other current players James Krause and Scott Barron. The Blues ran-out 4-0 winners on that occasion.

An U8s tournament precedes the game from 6.30pm onwards, while some of the proceeds go to a charity of Neil Whatling's choice.

Squad: Andrew Plummer, Billy Clarke, Curtley Williams, Darryl Knights, Gerard Nash, Ian Nimmo, Jai Reason, Jordan Rhodes, Luke Webster, Michael Synnott, Oliver Fenn, Russell Short, Ryan Watts, Tommy Smith, Tony Boto, Vemund Brekke Skard.
