More Trialists Expected - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton expects to have at least one more trialist in his squad when the Blues travel to Holland and Belgium for their pre-season tour next week. Magilton has also revealed that he is keen to sign Leeds left-back Dan Harding even if the Whites fail to follow up their interest in Darren Currie.

The travelling Town party already includes Frenchman Alexis Bertin who has been amongst the best performers in the pre-season matches at Boston and Galway, playing in a holding midfield role.

Bertin took a knock to an ankle in Ireland but is OK, while Sito is fine after acquiring a slight problem against the Tribesmen. Matt Richards is expected to travel but may not be involved as he continues his recovery from the ankle injury he sustained towards the end of last season.

James Krause, who has an ankle injury, and Alan Lee, who recently underwent abdominal surgery, will remain in Suffolk to train with fitness coach Simon Thadani.

Magilton says that even if Leeds decide not to sign Darren Currie, Dan Harding will be amongst his targets: "I would like Dan at this club. He is someone who could do a good job for us."

Leeds are understood to be willing to allow former England U21 international Harding, who has a year left on his contract, to leave over the summer and have been linked with another left-back, Ifeanyi Udeze from Greek side PAOK.
