Parkin Returns - Ipswich Town News

Striker Sam Parkin is back in the starting line-up for Town's final game of the pre-season tour at FC Dordrecht this evening (KO 7.30pm local time). The frontman missed Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Zulte Waregem with a bruised foot.

Also returning to the 11 is defender Chris Casement, who previously started the friendlies at Boston and Galway. The Northern Irishman is in a back four alongside Fabian Wilnis, Richard Naylor and Scott Barron.

Boss Jim Magilton names a three-man midfield for the first time, consisting of Vemund Brekke Skard, Jaime Peters and Ian Westlake. Parkin plays alongside Nicky Forster and Danny Haynes up front.

The Blues have seven subs available — Price, Knights, Clarke, Currie, De Vos, Magilton and Finnish trialist Kolsi — with Matt Richards, Dean Bowditch and Sito out injured with ankle, shin and groin problems respectively. All three are considered minor problems.

In addition, Owen Garvan, Gavin Williams and Alan Lee, all of whom missed the tour, are progressing well at Playford Road and should be in the squad for next Friday's home game with Lazio.

Garvan had been suffering with shingles and tendinitis, the latter a problem also afflicting Williams. Lee is recovering from summer surgery to correct a groin injury.
