Norwich Beaten - Ipswich Town News

Town reserves beat Norwich 3-2 yesterday afternoon, however they should never have let it get so close. After a goalless first half Town went ahead through Jonas Axeldal from a Marco Holster cross. Nine minutes later Stuart Niven headed home a cross from Kevin Inglis and Town had the game sewn up.

Until that is Mike Salmon cleared the ball directly to Budgie Adrian Forbes who easily hit home. Norwich then went down to ten men when Senegalese Pape Diop went off injured in the 80th after all three subs had been used. Parity was restored when Town Academy player Artum Erdum was sent off for a second bookable offence, a foul on Darren Eadie.

Norwich drew level in the 88th minute through Louis Blois from a cross by Darel Russell. However it was Town who had the last laugh when an Adam Tanner header hit the post and Jonas Axeldal snapped up the rebound. Town team: Salmon, Kennedy, Holster, Niven, Tanner, Inglis, Keeble, Axeldal, Logan (Miller76), Midgley and Magilton (Artun 65).

David Johnson scored for Jamaica in the 79th minute after coming on as sub against the United States. The goal put the Reggae Boyz into a 2-1 lead, however the ten man US side equalised a minute later.

Town's U19 Academy side play Leicester City tomorrow (noon kick-off).

Darren Bent, an U15 striker has been been selected in the England U15 squad training at Lilleshall on September 22-24.
