McShane Deal Off - Ipswich Town News
Town's attempt to sign Manchester United centre-half Paul McShane on loan appears to have failed. The Premiership side want the Irishman to move on a permanent basis rather than going on a second season-long loan, the 20-year-old having spent last year with Brighton and Hove Albion.
United want a fee for the County Wicklow-born defender, something which is almost certainly beyond the Blues at the present time, despite the recent share issue.
Boss Jim Magilton had hoped to parade McShane at tomorrow night's friendly with newly reinstated Serie A side Lazio. This now looks highly unlikely, although Town may have one or more trialists in their ranks.
