Jim Praise for Bowditch - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton was pleased with striker Dean Bowditch after the Blues' 2-0 defeat to Lazio. The new Town manager was generally happy with his side's display against the Serie A club.
Magilton told the club site: "I was delighted with Dean. His all-round play was very good and he came close to scoring.
"We have worked hard on building the lad's confidence up which has probably taken a jolt recently, so it was good to see a positive reaction from him.
"He had a good 45 minutes and all that was missing was a goal, but I'm sure that will come. Like any striker though, he will be judged on his goal return.
"It was just what we were looking for, a fantastic work-out.
"It was played at a high tempo, in a competitive nature, with plenty of good football as well.
"I was pleased with a lot of what we did and there were good performances all over the park.
"Alan Lee got a half under his belt, Owen Garvan had 20 minutes or so, which all helps towards their match fitness, and generally it was an excellent exercise and sets us up for an exciting week ahead."
