Town Close to Signing? - Ipswich Town News
Jim Magilton is reported to be close to making the first signing of his management career. The unnamed player is said to be a current or former U21 international defender.
The player is not believed to be Leeds left-back Dan Harding, who Jim Magilton once again confirmed is amongst his targets yesterday, and has previous Football League experience as well as having spent time in the Premiership.
Terms are reported to have been agreed with the player but the fee is still under discussion.
Meanwhile, Manchester United's Paul McShane says he could yet spend another season on loan: "I know there have been a few clubs in for me, but nothing has been decided.
"I want first team football, so I might go out on loan again. I had a taste of it at Brighton, so I don't want to be stuck in the reserves."
United refused Town's attempt to land the Irish U21 international on loan last week, instead demanding £250,000 for his permanent signing. Talks are continuing, with Hull City also reported to be interested.
