Striker Targeted - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton is reported to have targeted a Premiership striker in addition to the three other imminent signings. The Blues boss is also said to be ready to allow one of his squad to leave Portman Road.

With Leeds left-back Dan Harding set to be one of the three signings, it looks likely that the man leaving the Blues could be on his way to Elland Road.

Darren Currie and Shane Supple have both been linked with swaps for the former England U21 international, although Kevin Blackwell appears to have cooled in his interest in the midfielder and Town have denied that there has been a bid for Supple.

Town's interest in a striker is a surprise, given that the club is well covered on that front at present, with senior men Nicky Forster, Alan Lee and Sam Parkin augmented by youngsters Dean Bowditch, Billy Clarke, Danny Haynes and Darryl Knights. The interest in the as yet unnamed target may indicate that the Blues could be willing to allow one of their senior frontmen to leave the club.
