Harding Deal Complete - Ipswich Town News

Left-back Dan Harding has completed his move to Town, signing a three-year deal. The former England U21 international is expected to be included in the squad for tomorrow's season opener at home to Crystal Palace.

Town have sent the paperwork relating to the move to the Football League and are hopeful that clearance will be granted for the 22-year-old, who has been given the number 23 shirt, to play against Crystal Palace at Portman Road tomorrow afternoon.

Capped four times at England U21 international level, Harding joined Leeds, the club he supported as a boy, from Brighton and Hove Albion a year ago for a tribunal set initial fee of £450,000, which could have risen to £850,000 depending on appearances and other clauses.

Harding made his senior debut for Brighton against Norwich in August 2002 having progressed through the Seagulls' youth system. The 6ft tall defender, who was brought up in Sussex, made 76 appearances for the Withdean Stadium club, scoring his only career goal. The Gloucester-born player made 21 appearances in his only season at Leeds.
