Chairman: More Signings - Ipswich Town News

Chairman David Sheepshanks says the Blues could bring in more signings next week. Town added Dan Harding and Alex Bruce to their squad this week, both players going into the squad for Saturday's first game of the season at home to Crystal Palace.

Sheepshanks said: "That's two signings in two days and, while I can't promise we will make it a third on Monday, we are hopeful there will be another new player here next week.

"There may even be two so we are serving notice of what we are about."

West Ham midfielder Mark Noble is expected to join the Blues on loan next week onve he has returned from a pre-season trip with the Hammers.

Meanwhile, Sheepshanks has revealed that the cash received from Leeds for Ian Westlake could rise to as much as £500,000: "The fee for Ian is £400,000 rising to £500,000, in addition to Dan Harding joining us.

"There are also certain sell-on conditions attached to Ian's move so, although we don't like to see one of our own move on, a £500,000 deal plus Dan adds up to a good deal for Ipswich Town.

"I would like to put on record our thanks to Ian, though. He has been a fantastic servant to this club and we wish him every success in the future."

Westlake has been handed the number seven shirt at Leeds and is expected to make his debut against Norwich City on Saturday.
