Boss Jim Magilton was unsure why Dean Bowditch's second half goal was disallowed, but conceded that his side were poor as they lost 1-0 to 10-man Wolves. The Town manager felt his players failed to carry out his half-time instructions.
Magilton said he didn't know why the equaliser was disallowed, although it appeared from the terraces that the linesman flagged for offside: "It deflected off their defender, hit the inside of the post, Deano was alive and put it in but I've no idea why [it was ruled out].
"We just didn't do enough. We gave them simple instructions at half-time, to keep the ball moving, and we didn't carry it out.
"It's not rocket science. We had a penalty, which was a lifeline, and the goalkeeper made a great save.
"At half-time we felt if we could keep the ball moving we had a chance of winning the game.
"We had too many people decide they were going to win the game on their own and as a collective unit we were poor."
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was very pleased with his side: "It's doing us a disservice to say it was a battling performance. It turned out to be that, but I thought in the first half we played some terrific stuff and we were considerably the better side.
"But it was a battling performance in the second half."
The former Ireland boss hadn't seen a replay of Carl Cort's red card, but on his initial viewing had little argument: "I don't know if there was a lot in it but if he raised his hands it gives the referee the opportunity for the sending-off. If you raise your hand, that's the rule."
