Should We Stay Or Should We Go?
Written by cornishblu on Wednesday, 24th Dec 2014 11:00

As a lifelong Ipswich fan now exiled down to Cornwall my son and I make as many games as matrimonially and financially allowed.

We have had the real privilege of meeting two other like-minded individuals, father and son too, just one mile away and four years ago set out on our travels.

Making 11 games last season was the best year yet for us as a two but we were far eclipsed by our friends' 22 and 14,000 miles.

It was also a real delight to hear our sons get to actually sing songs about promotion for the first time in their supporting life. Can we start to dream again this season?

So here is the dilemma, as a two we have only been to six games this season, Crawley A, Reading A, Birmingham A, Norwich H, Cardiff A, Bournemouth A.

For the eagle-eyed amongst you the only four defeats that Ipswich have suffered Cornishblu and Little Cornishblu have been there. And the other two results draws!

Our friends are beginning to wonder whether we are the jinxes, so the dilemma, do we go with them to the Brentford game or not? Tickets in hand, an excited yet pleading son desperately wanting to see us win. Could we possibly see our team promoted this year yet never see them win ourselves?

Just in case the 5,500 are beginning to worry, we can't make Southampton but are free for Derby at Portman Road and Brighton away at the end of January if you are thinking of buying tickets for future games.

COYB. Let's hope it really is a Happy Christmas!!

Know the feeling-my wife's never seen us win[and prior to her I'd never seen us lose!]
We are due Reading game 21/2 flights/hotel booked-don't tell anyone!
So in my opinion-go for it-it's got to change!

Know the feeling all too well, living in California I don't get to as many games as id like. Prior to this season I hadn't been to a game where we had won for six years.... then I was lucky enough to be in England in August, and the jinx continued, firstly away at Reading, then away at Birmingham (but i did meet Jasper Carrot) and we at least got a point, lastly Norwich at PR immediately before flying back to the US.
I was therefore a little nervous when i once again returned in early November, our form at that point wasn't great but nonetheless i bought tickets for Wolves and Watford at home, and as you know the 6 and a half year jinx was broken with 2 fabulous wins. Keep the faith, something good is happening to the club, be part of it whenever you can !
COYB & Happy Christmas.

In 91/92 I was at university in Sunderland. I saw us against Sunderland (H & A), 'Boro (A), Cambridge (H) and Liverpool (A). All defeats.

I now live ~250 miles away - I pick my games which have so far included Reading (A), Norwich (H) and Cardiff (A) - our 3 league defeats.

I will be at Brentford on Friday. Apologies in advance.

Back in 2002-3 season I took my wife to her 1st ITFC matches to gently ease her in to understanding why she would not see me most Saturdays. She saw Ipswich beat Leicester 6-1 on 18th Aug then Ipswich beat Avenir Beggen 8-1 on 29th. She luvved it so I convinced her to come to an away match on 2nd Sept and we saw Ipswich draw 0-0 at Preston. Turns out she thought all games were loaded with goals and she has not been to another match since!!
