Teams around/below us.. 09:11 - Feb 1 with 825 viewsKing_of_Portman_Rd

Who has gone and strengthened then?..

Villa - Spent a fortune (not a fair assessment when comparing us)

Bristol City - Strengthened across the board, most notable to us, their Strikers and midfield

Forest - Big Championship signings after losing Lansbury. Definitely stronger at 11pm than there were a week prior

QPR - Lots of attacking options added (Freeman, Lua Lua, Morrison, Smith etc.)

Wigan - Lots of new signings across the board, Bogle being of particular interest to us but some other interesting names that look like good signings at this stage.

Wolves - Spent big and bought in some quality. Looks like a very decent window for them

There are a few below us that have added and frustratingly in areas we have been so desperately lacking.. Potential for us to really slide down the table if new signings have an impact

The teams below us, apart from one have a game in hand, Wigan and Blackburn have 2 games in hand. We need to pick up a couple of wins soon enough to not get dragged in to that mix.

If you don't think we're in the mix now, you just need to look at our Feb fixtures to know we will be by the end of the month!

Forest and QPR have strengthened substantially, Bristol City and Wigan have each lost 1 player they'd have preferred not to, but have got in several who might improve them. Burton have signed a couple of players that might improve them...

Rotherham are down, we just have to hope there are 2 other teams worse than us (I think Burton and Blackburn are)

They've also added that centre half (Ambrose) we had supposedly looked at to replace Chambers, as well as Joao from Wednesday. They may have lost Marshall but they have added overall I would say.

They seem to be looking to outscore teams, as they have quite a few attacking players particularly with that lump Joao now in the squad.

No it's not. They already beat them last September.

1 away point for Rotherham this season so far. Guess who against.

I have looked at the table and we will have to beat Cardiff (Away), Forest (Away) and Burton (Away) if were to lose the up coming games to get points required.

Did not know Blackburn play Rotherham, that should be 3 points for them. Not sure we should be counting on Rotherham at this stage to take points off our relegation rivals...

The problem we have is twofold. Evans will not fund big signings. Frankly in today's market he needs to give the manager a war chest of probably around £50m if we have any hope of competing with the top 6. If he's not prepared to do that, then why bother owning a football club, as we will just continue to lose £5m to £10m per year and a steady decline. The 2nd problem at the moment, is even if we can compete in the transfer market, what quality footballer wants to join a club where the atmosphere has gone toxic & everyone wants the manager out. Can't see now how MM can change that, so thanks Mick for saving us 4 years ago, but a new young manager in the Eddie Howe mould is needed. Not easy to find though!

We have Cardiff, Burton, Rotherham and Forest all away before the end of the season as well as Wigan at home
(There's No telling where any of us will be when the games are played) but those could be pivotal based on the current league table.
