The Mrs went back to work today 18:14 - Mar 7 with 1309 viewsYallop

The Mrs went back to work today for the first time since our 11 month old Junior Tractor Boy was born meaning that I had the little man for the day.

We did the seaside, b&q and dropped in on friends. He's now bathed clean and sound asleep and dinner is cooked in time to head off to Fortress Portman Road.

A doddle. I can't see what all the fuss is about. I wish we could afford for me to be a stay at home dad.

Like childbirth eh, over egged.

In truth I used to have Fridays off for the first couple of years my first one was around. I was increasingly more knackered on the Friday relative to the days I went to work.

I remember when I was in the same situation, I also had a breeze.

I ended up drawing up a time and motion graph and pinned it to the kitchen wall.

It wasn't accepted in the spirit in which it was given.

Good fun isn't it.

I just made the mistake of over egging the ease of today to the Mrs and I've had a mouthful about the state of the house, the little mans clothes covered in food, the bed not being made and do I think the fairies are responsible for all the washing and ironing getting done!

Day 2 tomorrow. Might pinch your time and motion graph idea!

Did you hoover the house?
Did you do the supermarket shopping?
Have you put all the bedsheets in the wash this week?
Do you know what you're cooking for dinner tomorrow?
Could you do all that and still fit in an emergency visit to the health centre with Junior Tractor Boy?

I doubt he's also not:

- gassed on the phone to mother for 30 mins
- gassed on the phone to sister for 50 minutes
- joined the girls for coffee
- joined the mum's run in the park
- 'done lunch'
