When football brings fans together 21:57 - Apr 17 with 2118 views | greyhound | Today was mental at times. As the second goal poundedbthe back of the net someone literally jumped over 2 rows of seats and embraced those whose arms he fell into none of which he knew. When we scored every celebrated within each other it was tremendous. The unity a performance like that brings us incredible. To see the south stand all give it the big one to the away fans when huws broke the back of the net was a delight. It was topped off when a random elderly gentleman walking alongside me near the crown court discussed my opinions of the game. He admitted that at the final whistle he had a tear in his eyes. I found this quite harrowing. I guy who had clearly been through the robson era, wearing his colours and feeling so emotionally connected to the game in this way. The passion for the team runs deep. Why can't we feel this every week. It brings me full circle to the problems of the club I guess. Expensive tickets keep people away, so only when we have the big occasions the cheap tickets, the affordable local football can the fans pull together and celebrate as one. Marcus Evans should realise that today is how football should be done and he should make whatever changes neccesary to make it happen far more often.

When football brings fans together on 22:14 - Apr 17 with 1981 views | SitfcB | It was brilliant. I nearly broke my ankle celebrating the first goal, my leg went through the back of the seats. Then I rolled my ankle running down the stairs for the second one then hugged some random people, same for the third, ran down the stairs jumped on the back of someone then bear hugged some guy on the way back. Was great to see PR nearly full with a good atmosphere and a great performance, anyone would have thought it was a top of the table clash.

When football brings fans together on 22:18 - Apr 17 with 1943 views | mos | I truly believe the players of Town have a lot more passion than most other players of other clubs. At Burton, our away support was tremendous, throughout the game the players must have acknowledged us, because they were often clapping us, and fist pumping to give us some courage to make some noise. And then, Kenlock jumped into the crowd when Sears scored the second. Followed by a Chambers fist pump. At the end of today's game, Smith, who'd only been on for 10 minutes went round all the stands applauding the fans, and Chambers yet again did his usual fist pump. You have to respect the players who play for town, most (if not all) have passion. Compare it to some other clubs - Arsenal, Newcastle, Villa who's players do not play with passion. Respect to the town players, who have really shown who they are of recent times.

Credit where credits due when the Nufc fans were singing they were pretty loud as well. Was like the games from 10 or 15 years back again today

They were loud at 0-0 and again at 1-1. But I thought they were poor when they were behind, and just gave up on their team.

Isn't this the general story of football support. Let's face it we weren't mental until it went 3-1

Generally yes - but the contrast was stark - more so than with most other vocal sets of fans. Surprising considering they are second - clearly just disappointed they hadn't wrapped up the league by Christmas.

When football brings fans together on 23:10 - Apr 17 with 1660 views | vilanovablue | "What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love." Sir Bobby knew...

It was great Can I just point one thing out though... not too long ago you moaned at me celebrating a last minute equaliser at Barnsley because the game was meaningless.. I would assume today wasn't even more meaningless then? Just saying sitters

When football brings fans together on 23:13 - Apr 17 with 1639 views | southnorfolkblue | Totally agree on the prices. Evans needs to reverse the price increases that he has introduced but that isn't going to happen in a month of Sundays. So no matter how well we played today, there will be a few thousand less inside Portman Road next season.

Don't spoil it, Newcastle are world beaters and their manager is a tactical genius. We beat a modern day equivalent of an AC Milan captained by Franco Baresi.
