Mexico on 13:04 - Apr 28 with 3023 views | north_stand77 | Use peso rather than US dollars, it's works out slightly better over there. Got mine from Asda and if you pay a small fee ( 3 or 4 quid I think ) they buy back any unused for your buying price. Where will you be staying? P.S Don't turn up at Cancun airport inebriated is the best tip tho! 😊 [Post edited 28 Apr 2017 13:17]

Spent a few weeks in Tulum earlier in the year amazing place, it's around an hour and half from Cancun, make sure you visit Mayan ruins and cenotes which are natural.swimming holes all.over Mexico. There's loads to do near where you are staying, zip wire in the jungle, swimming with dolphins etc.

very nice area we've been twice in the last 6 years. Xel-Ha or something like that is worth it. An outdoor naturalish water park.

We stayed at the Palladium Hotels resort Riviera Maya, (adjacent to jungle ). So you will be close to jungle where there are underground caves (cenotes) to visit and would also suggest snorkeling with turtles. Lots of ancient ruin sites to visit if your interested

We stayed there a few years ago for 2 weeks We swam with turtles, there is a because famous for it (can't remember the name sorry) everyone offers trips there but we just caught the local shuttle bus, which just goes up and down the main road, and organized it ourself. That and visit cenote they are incredible. Be wary of Mexicans with tequila..... they had it out like water and some are rather potent

Mexico on 13:52 - Apr 28 with 2813 views | Adam | What resort is it? We are staying in 'Bluebay Grand Esmeralda' 10 days all inclusive A lot of people have told us to go the ruins. I think we will be as it's something the missus is really interested in. Me not so much but if your going all that way you have to really! Thanks for the tip davblue I will be looking into Xel-Ha as we like water parks. Swimming with turtles/dolphins definitely appeal! So thank you! The local shuttle bus is it cheap enough?

We took the normal bus to the turtle beach but when we got there the Mrs had a panic attack about swimming out so far and I was a bit p1ssed so we didn't bother. Looks good though and you just hire out the equipment from the beach. Personally I wouldn't swim with dolphins in a pool as I think it's cruel.

Coba? Anyway, I would also recommend staying out of Cancun (unless you're there as a single person)

Mexico on 14:13 - Apr 28 with 2738 views | BLUEBEAT | Chicken Itza not far so would definitely recommend that. Would also suggest paying a little more and getting a taxi there early before the coaches turn up. Also recommend the Coba pyramid - one of the few you can still climb and the view from the top, surrounded by jungle is fantastic. One place I would cross off any potential list is a boat trip over to Cozumel as it's expensive (it's where the cruisers pull in) and has more of a Polynesian feel than Mexican.

Mexico on 14:21 - Apr 28 with 2715 views | Lord_Lucan | You must drink copious amounts of a shot called Mexican Guinness - although don't line up a dozen for breakfast, it doesn't work.

Yes we have looked at Chicken Itza already! We would be interested in climbing the pyramid. We went to Hawaii in December and climbed Diamond Head and that the views there was superb. Pretty terrifying up the last little bit though! Thanks for all the suggestions though guys really helpful! Anyone with anymore carry on its helping me plan the holiday!

Any ideas why you had trouble getting back to the UK?
