Best opposition player 20:55 - May 11 with 6102 viewsTRUE_BLUE123

After finishing the EADT survey, one question has me very interested. Who is the best player we have played against this year.

I had to go with a Fulham player as they have been the best side we've come up against imo. Although Tom Cairney was the option I went with Stefan Johansen, it was strange that he wasn't one of the options, for me he dictates every game he plays in and against us was just superb. I dream of having a player like him at Portman Road.

Any other suggestions

Shelvey - let him play and he'll murder any side in this league.

I went with him too. He just looks like a player who will be a success in any team in this league.
But thats what happens when you spend.

Far too injury prone unfortunately/doesn't look after himself depending on who you believe.

I would say Liam Bridcutt from Leeds. All over the place.

Great player.

Surely Varney should have been on the list for his efforts on good friday

I would say that that was the best individual performance by an opposition player in the 49 games that I saw.

Well it was the first time I saw Berra man-mark a target man and be run ragged. He has everywhere and contributed so much more than his goal.

Against us, and most of these have been mentioned:
Chris Wood at Elland Road, but wasn't fully fit down here so struggled
Tom Cairney
Michael Woods for Brentford
Britt Assombalonga looked quality both times
Barry Bannan

Not against us - Knockaert and Mooy were both quality whenever I watched them, as was Matt Richie

That was the key to us beating them on Easter Monday. We kept him quiet and shut him down and he started getting frustrated, started whinging at Huws and the ref.

Class player in this league, along with Ritchie.

Agree with Joe, the little ginger kid from Brentford, Wood, now he taught us a lesson on how a central midfielder should play football.

Ryan Woods?? The ginger lad for Brentford, who got Hyam sent off last season. Played well against us.

I liked the lad Palmer from Burton, in midfield. Everything he did that night was the correct option at the right time

Forgot about Palmer, him and Jamie Ward were quality against us back in October.

Sol Bamba?

Assombalonga was very good in both matches against us. I liked Alex Gilbey when he came on for Wigan too. Fulham I thought just functioned superbly as a team without it being down to any individual, the contrast with McCromack last season was notable.

Woods played well against us this season, but I still have an irrational dislike for the bloke, coz of his antics last season, as a result of the judge injury. His tackle on Hyam was malicious, where as Hyams wasn't.

Not saying I rate Hyam, because he is just bang average, just thought Woods was a tw4t that day
