I think he has done a good job but the club is still such a mess, Allam still trying to change the name and held in less esteem by their fans than ME is here, that they were a way behind half-way through the season.

They absolutely despise the Allam family, totally blaming him for Bruce leaving and they have a lot of sympathy with any manager that takes on the task.
General consensus is that Silva's done a very good job, bringing in some excellent players, but were just too far behind to catch up. I think I read that only something like 3 teams have ever survived relegation from the top flight having been bottom at Christmas, since the change from 2 to 3 being relegated. |  |
