Arsenal and... 23:12 - May 19 with 1891 viewsGromheort

I always assumed Arsenal are a poster child compared to the other top clubs. However, today's deadline made me stare in space:

"Arsenal need the spending power of a billionaire such as Alisher Usmanov in order to move to the next level, says Gunners legend Ian Wright"

Is it always going to be more fun to watch football in the lower leagues?

The lower leagues are much more entertaining than the Prem. An ideal solution would be to be a yo-yo club with a few cups thrown in for good measure and a couple of seasons in Europe as a bonus.

Maybe that had been the strategy all along? We'll yo-yo between leagues 1 and 2 and occasionally win the Checkatrade Trophy.

Truly impaired.

Doesn't ColU have some link with Tiptree? That might be the way forward. When it gets too dark and dreary, we could skip down to Harwich and Parkeston

You don't have to be too bright though to see how soulless the money machine has become though. Promotion to typically hope for future parachute payments such that we can keep overpaid players that are just a snippet below Premier standard

Indeed, the PL is about money and seeing fans boast about how much money they have rather than winning games or trophies is rather sad.

Due to the PL parachute payments and he scramble to get up, to truly compete in this league now, you need to lose £20m+ a season.

We need our own 'liquid' billionaire, not just someone with assets on paper if we ever want to get out this league

I'll be quite happy when they doddle off and the 'top' clubs form their own little rich boys Euro league.

Col U use Maldon and Tiptree as a feeder club to play their younger pros to get first team experience in competitive men's football in the Ryman North league.
