Old classic football shirts... 12:20 - May 24 with 3793 viewsitfcjoe

....not as in really old - but last 20 years or so.

Started buying a few on eBay to wear when out running - got myself a Greece national team, Olympiakos and Ajax shirt this week, ideally I like them with a name and number of a random player on the back.

Anybody else suitably weird?

Also like to keep my eye on ITFC ones, some people try and sell some rubbish for top whack - shirts personalised to themselves being main example! One bloke wants £25 plus P&P for a terrible old Punch away kit with his name on the back and describes it as 'Very rare', which i suppose is true.....

They are, but it's hard to get a bargain on there like some on eBay.

Although there are obviously people making good money buying on eBay and reselling from a more official looking shop - does my nut in when they outbid me like on a classic Denilson Real Betis shirt last week!

Not necessarily old shirts, but whenever I visit a place now (abroad) I always try and buy the shirt of the local club. Got the Hertha Berlin shirt when I went to Berlin last year, will probably get the Barcelona shirt in a couple of weeks time when I go, and as I might be off to Stockholm later this year, i'll probably end up getting the AIK shirt.

As a side note, if anyone knows where I can the RKC Waalwijk (Jupiler League side from Holland) shirt from this season for a reasonable price, that would be great!

As you say, just wear them to go running/play squash in really.

I tend to do that as well, although may run out of money on my Baltic cruise!

Also, you should get an Espanyol shirt rather than Barca....!

Or a matchworn one from Carlos van Wanrooy..

Ha! Plenty of sides to choose from.

Good point actually, I think I might do that as I can literally buy a Barca shirt offline anywhere really!

Cheers for those, will take a look.

Did you put a bid in for Crazy's old shirt?

Random question - what are the orange adidas ITFC shirts (the ones not available for sale from last season) worth, player worn like? I've looked on ebay etc but never seen one for sale and i thought you might have some idea? Cheers!

You can't polish a turd....but you can sprinkle it with glitter!

...Sears' from last season.

It's basically just a standard off the shelf shirt.

Same quality, with an embroidered badge and the EFL logos on the sleeves.

I only bought it for the curiosity value really.

....it was around £45 to £50.

I got it from the auction site.

Think there was an astronomical P&P fee though.

ah right thanks.

ha ha i rememebr years ago i used to do that on ebay when i was young and skint...you didn't pay commission on postage...so it made sense to sell things for £2 and then charge £70 p&p rather than the reverse!

Growing up I used to get bucket loads of foreign shirts, still got most of them ( Barca away 97/98 one of the wierdest )

Had a bit of a Quaresma / Figo thing over the years so a few shirts with their name and number on the back.

Got an Aimar shirt from when he was at Joho Bahru in Malaysia ( he was kindly injured when I tried to watch him live )

Will get more crap shirts!
