Haven't seen anything . But wouldn't surprise me. We can't afford his real current wages can we.

But the cost of a house in the Fulham area is much higher than something similar in, say, Chantry. So it is all swings and roundabouts.

Yes, but a house in Fulham will also make you money.

Ludicrous isn't it?

That'd be MM who went and got him, played him and praised him to high heaven and wants to keep him.

Ironically plenty of fans weren't sure about Huws when we signed him and changed their mind when it was obvious that he has such ability.

House price inflation is starting to turn round now. There is the potential to lose more money on a Fulham house than one in Chantry. Huws would be daft to go there.

Sadly a fact of finances, which is probably why we quietly go about signings normally. Other clubs get a sniff and we get blown out of the water for wages as clubs like Fulham get a parachute payment above our annual income. Makes it difficult to compete at times if it comes a fight between 2 or more clubs. A sad fact of reality I'm afraid.

There must be many on here who, having lived in London for a bit, watch from afar as their modest 2 bed flat goes for ½ miliion.

In the long run, London never loses.

Its not just the clubs with parachute payments though.

We are increasingly uncompetitive in terms of transfer fees and wages and there is no sign of things getting any better. In fact just to stand still in the Championship now is going to require year on year investment way above what Evans provides currently.

If things carry on as they are there is only one way this will end.

It beautifully highlights the problem with loans.

Any player who comes on loan and does well we can't afford.
If we rate a player and we want him we should sign him, except that costs money!

Don't remember anyone criticising Huws the player.
However many people criticised the fact it was another loan. And if he goes and signs for another Championship team they will be proven correct.

This was my reaction when I saw we had signed a loanee. Though I was waiting for my train to depart Ipswich after a 3-0 home loss knowing I wouldn't be home for 2 hours.

You can almost guarantee that if one club is going to drag it's feet & completely miss the boat on any of it's targets,it's us.

I don't want us to sign him personally. I think he did well in his time here which has no doubt increased his value and bargaining position for wages and think we have bigger problems to solve.

In that position we have Skuse & Ward and we really need Bishop, Dozzell, Benyu and Nydam to make an impact this season. I think signing another defensive midfielder is more of a priority because without Skuse we are very short there.

Plus I'm sceptical about signing players after good loan spells, more often than not that form isn't replicated.

Think this might only just be the season where AD is ready, I highly doubt Nydam is. Benyu you'd hope for, but that is still hell of a leap up.

I worry Bishop is done here.

Would like there to be something in the Ince story personally.

As for Huws I felt he had the talent but not the fitness when we signed him. I don't doubt he'd have a very good season here. Plus we need to build a midfield that Skuse doesn't have to drag along 30 or so times a season.

The London footballers seem to live near the training grounds, hence Cobham is full of Chels.

Fulham's is Motspur Park I think. Still pricy, but not Fulham.
