Thread 08:51 - Jun 4 with 5547 viewsPhilTWTD

Just got up to discover a number of posts relating to last night's dreadful events had been reported, largely in one thread which I've removed (it's difficult to fillet threads, apologies for removing the rest of it). Just for clarity, racist posts aren't welcome and those who post them will be banned.

How do you determine what is 'racist', Phil?

If you ask the board to name the most frequent bigoted posters the same couple of names would come up but they are still here

If you'd seen the thread and couldn't determine that, i'd say you're part of the problem.

Not you personally, clearly, but as an overall comment

Agreed.

Considering the continued presence of those spouting some of the more outwardly and unashamedly racist stuff from last night, it doesn't seem to get you a ban on here anyway. Which is fine, it's just a bit disingenuous to suggest it does.

That said, I wouldn't want Phil's job with these posts at all!

"Almost universally, racism is used to mean prejudiced hostility (and institutional oppression built on it) to all members of a group which may not be pseudo-scientifically defined as a “race” but which has shared characteristics based not on individual choice but some communal “tag” – often skin colour, but also sometimes other characteristics such as language or (presumed) religion"

No, I think it's semantics. I don't think it's as easy as an either/or

There were a couple on here who were showing hostility to all Muslims, so quite reasonably could be considered racism. The term "race" has a lot of interpretations.

In which case the term racism has been hijacked by the liberals because you cannot choose race, but you can choose religion.

Do you know what, having read some of the bile expressed last night I will take a punt that some of them are racist bigots, or even bigoted racists, whichever sits most comfortably with you !

Indeed

I specifically asked if people like my mate or Newcy's crew member should hold some part of the blame despite being as innocent as me and you and the reply I got was 'I couldn't give a f*ck about you or your mate. The whole lot of them need to go'
