Yes, it could be considered GBH, particularly if any "victims" suffered harm or distress due to the fear of, or actual, transmission of infectious diseases.
The other team should have walked off if the Ref took no action.

Imagine being one of the opposition players. Getting stabbed is bad enough but then you've got to be concerned about where Allende got it from. Is it clean or was it just picked up from a local beach? An incident like this will play with the oppositions minds, and they are unlikely to be able to concentrate fully on the game. Plus, if you were his marker at a corner, would you bother marking him (knowing you are going to get a skin full of random needle?). Personally feel they should be forced to replay the tie. |  |
