Not good news, you're right.

For me it begs a couple of questions:

1) Will this create family division?
It should, but the Saudi ruling elite tend to be quite uncompromising when it comes to opposition even from inside "the family".

2) Their recent position towards Qatar is clearly US backed following Trumps visit to the region. Do they seriously believe that the Americans won't hang them out to dry as soon as there role as US/Israeli proxy is done?

3) The war with Yemen and this conflict with Qatar is all about extending their resource fuelled exorbitant existence for as long as possible. The country is armed to the teeth despite having one of the least competent armies on the planet - but just how long can they go on for without taking rival states' oil and gas reserves?
